English with Crosswords 1 – Elementary Photocopiables

These photocopiable books help students acquire and review 240 essential nouns, verbs, and adejctives in 12 different themes.


Level 1 covers: Nature, In Town, Travel, Shopping, At Home, Furniture, Food and Drink, Fruit and Vegetables, Clothes, Sports, Actions, Oppposites.

Level 2 covers: At the Railway Station, At the Airport, At the Seaside, Sea Life, On Safari, Farm Animals, The Body, Jobs, At School, In the Kitchen, Actions, Opposites.

Each topic has one page where all the new vocabulary words are listed and illustrated. That is followed by five different crosswords reviewing that vocabulary. The first puzzle reviews the first 10 words, the second the next 10 words, the third and fourth alternately use all 20 words, and the fifth reviews all the words. Gradually and enjoyably, the students memorize the spelling of each word.
