A course-specific dictionary for level 7 facilitates the transition from primary into secondary education, and contains new words which did not appear in the primary levels of English World. New vocabulary comes from the reading texts, the Grammar in use dialogues and the Writing pages.

In addition, the dictionary contains all the vocabulary from English World Levels 1-6 to give practice in using a full dictionary with all entries listed alphabetically and to allow students to check words they have seen before but may have forgotten. Practice Book pages should be done when the corresponding page in the Language Book has been finished. If there is time at the end of the Language Book lesson, teachers may like to go through some or all of the exercises orally before children work independently.

Packaged with the Practice Book is the Working with Words CD-ROM. It includes a wide range of interactive activities for further consolidation and practice of grammar and vocabulary as well as a picture dictionary and all audio files for the Fluency Book.

Broken down into six lessons plus revision pages, the Macmillan English 6 Language Book gives the opportunity to work through basic skills such as: Reading, Comprehension, Sentence Building, Grammar, Listening, Phonics and Class Writing.

The Macmillan English 6 Fluency Book helps children to develop natural intonation when speaking English. It tells an exciting 18-episode adventure story featuring four child characters and uses some narrative, but mainly dialogue. Every lesson in Macmillan English 5 has two pages of resources in the Teacher's Guide to assist the teacher.

The first page shows the pupils' material in facsimile and the brief notes on each step of the lesson related by pointers to the facsimile. This allows teachers to conduct the lesson with the stimulus material and main teaching points together.

The second page contains the lesson summary, including the aim, specific targets, key words and language, materials needed and advance preparation required.
