Talking Culture + CD-ROM

Talking Culture is a flexible new culture course for young teenagers learning English.

Talking Culture contains 6 self-contained modules dealing with a specific theme.
Each spread is full of useful and interesting information, chosen to appeal to young teenagers and to give them an insight into life in the English-speaking world.
The four skills (reading, writing, speaking and  listening) are developed systematically throughout the book.

The modules cover the following themes:

Food
Sport
Festivals
Entertainment

Each module of Talking Culture is divided into 2 levels. Level 1 introduces culture at an elementary level (CEF A1). While Level 2 (CEF A2) allows the students to develop their knowledge of the theme as their language skills improve.

Talking Culture offers a variety of informative and entertaining texts with a wide choice of cross-curricular links.

* A comic strip opens each module introducing the new theme and language in a communicative, student-friendly way.
Talking about you allows the students to personalise the theme of the text.
* Each module is organised in 2 levels allowing students to approach and develop a theme gradually. Subjects such as History which rely on knowledge of past tenses are introduced in Level 2 when students have the necessary language skills.
* A double-page spread of exercises revises and checks all new words and language while providing new information and facts. There is a wide range of communicative activities and exercises plus a Language Portfolio project in each section.
* Around the world focuses on a specific country from the English-speaking world allowing students to discover new cultures and realities while promoting greater intercultural understanding and integration.
