The Star and the Colours (Level 1) + audio download

A very curious star wants to know what the sun is like. When the moon calls the stars to go to bed, she hides under a cloud and waits. Little by little the sun comes out and a world of colourful things appears. The star loves what she sees and every time she discovers a new colour she sings a magic song because she wants to become coloured. Nothing seems to change, but in the end the star gets a great surprise.

The EARLYREADS series is aimed at children from four to twelve years old and contains original stories and traditional favourites, as well as some cultural readers, graded over five levels.

Grading of Earlyreads

Earlyreads are graded according to their subject matter and by structural and lexical criteria: the maximum number of headwords for level 1 is 100 headwords, for level 2 it is 150, 200 at level 3, 250 at level 4 and 300 at level 5. Level 5 represents a good elementary ability (full competence at level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference).
