Popis

The Advanced Student's Book gives learners an immediate sense of purpose and clear learning objectives. It provides core grammar and vocabulary input alongside a mix of skills. Speaking lessons offer a unique combination of functional language, pronunciation and conversation skills, alongside video filmed in the real world. Each unit ends with a consolidation of core language from the unit and focuses on writing within the context of a highly communicative mixed-skills lesson. Students also have access to the Cambridge Learning Management System, which includes a complete assessment package with extra personalised practice and online workbook.

The Student’s Book is designed to engage adult learners. It includes intriguing images, texts and video designed to arouse curiosity and get students talking. With Cambridge English Empower Student’s Book teachers can genuinely ‘teach off the page’ with little or no preparation time required.

Learner Engagement

Cambridge English Empower Student’s Book engages adult learners in the following ways:

  • Getting Started
Each unit begins with a ‘Getting Started’ page, designed to engage learners from the very start of the unit – leading to greater motivation and more successful learning. It does this in three ways:

  • Remarkable texts and images
Throughout the course, learners encounter texts and images that inform, amuse, surprise, entertain, raise questions, arouse curiosity and empathy, provoke an emotional response, and prompt new insights and perspectives – this means that learners are consistently motivated to engage, read, listen, and communicate.

  • Frequent opportunities for personal response.
There are frequent opportunities to practise speaking throughout every lesson. These include personalisation tasks which make the target language in every unit meaningful to the individual learner. But not only that – there are also regular activities that encourage learners to respond personally to the content of texts and images.
